This new interactive publication and utility describes how design-based collaboration and learning can foster the development of the new product service systems. We need to reimagine the world we want to see, fomenting what could become a 21st century renaissance.
The world is facing accelerating urban, environmental, economic, social, cultural, health, mobility, political, affordability, sustainability and cohesion challenges that threaten our future.
The next decade will require us to develop new ways of living through new formats that organize our daily interactions and lives in meaningful new ways.
To this end, we will need to establish new centres of collaborative research, creation and innovation that propose new possibilities.
NEW PROCESSES
In the time of this Polycrisis, the rate of change demands a resonant creative responsive.
New processes for gathering the best intelligence (personal, collective, natural, temporal and artificial), rapidly creating new formats (for dwelling, working, governing, caring, earning, learning, moving and sharing) and innovating in our workplaces, governments, and civil society institutions will be more critical than ever. We will need to imagine new ways of living that promote the wellbeing of our “world house” enabling future generations to lead productive and happy lives.
CONIFER FUTURES CENTRES
To this end, the publication calls for the establishment of new spaces, both physical and digital, for a more integrated approach to working and learning where ideas grow from research and development, prototyping and piloting them to take them to the marketplace. The book describes the business plan for the development of a network of such centres for collaborative creation encouraging the growth of a global movement for the betterment of society through a collective wisdom, participatory design, collaborative creation and propagation of persistence. Finally, the book calls out for the power of collaborative creativity to reshape a more humane society where people are re-empowered by the precepts of a wisdom economy, and where there is no finality but a constant process of “creation and recreation” that includes all, through the new super power of the “both &” which keeps society evergreen.
